Our SBA 8(a) and EDWOSB applications were submitted in April 2026 and are currently pending SBA review. Once certified, Skilak will be eligible for 8(a) competed and sole-source contracts — direct-award opportunities that bypass full competition.

Skilak Consulting was founded in Alaska in October 2023 — a Native American-owned firm built on the belief that senior engineering talent and genuine consulting expertise shouldn't require a Fortune 500 vendor. The name comes from Skilak Lake in the Kenai Peninsula: a place that reflects the values behind the firm — remote, self-reliant, and built to endure.

In April 2026, Skilak activated on SAM.gov and submitted SBA applications for 8(a) Business Development, EDWOSB, and Women-Owned Small Business certifications — positioning the firm to compete directly for federal set-aside contracts where our socio-economic profile and technical depth give us a genuine edge.
